hey erabbit didnt you have the srt ? and the engine from this mazda is a ford engine if im not mistaken because i worked on alot of mazda 3 and well they say fomoco which means ford motor company

wait... your running a 3" test pipe straight into a 2.5 inch catback? that seems pretty counterintuitive

yes 3 inch test pipe was $50 and the catback is 2.5inch and was a $400 Magnaflow. I didnt want to spend alot of money. Lemme know what ur guys times are with these mods so I can see if I am close next week when I go to the track.

my buddy has a speed 6 its nice but the gear ratio combined with the small turbo (boost doesnt build until ~5k) makes it drive really weird

@mikhailSRT4 The 2.3L is a Mazda designed engine, MZR. They have been doing a LOT of parts sharing for years. The 3.0L found in the 2003-2008 Mazda 6s is a Ford engine. Speed 6 was made in Honshu, Japan.

@mikhailSRT4 speed 6 engines are made in japan not by the ford motor compnay... the mazda 6/mazda 3 are fords 2.3L motors the speed 6 setup is completely different but it is commonly thought to be fords motor.... a mazda 6 front end would need to have 5k to 6k in uppgrades and parts to hold the motor alone (being a 6 owner i looked)

@Johandyman - Yes this is the MPS, only in North America it's called the Mazdaspeed6. There is no "MPS" designation here -- I think that's a European thing only.

@mikhailSRT4 You can't compare a regular 3 to this car or even the speed3, the engines are different... this is a DISI MZR, I have been up and down my Mazdaspeed6.... the only thing that said "FoMoCo" on it was the spark plugs, lol....

@ ERABBIT, Mazda 6 MPS is the Mazdaspeed6 of Europe... Mazdaspeed Atenza is the name in Japan.

@mikhailSRT4 ford and mazda are partners. theyre like best friends. ford is partners with volvo, mazda, so they come out with very advanced engines. volvo helped them do there variable valve timing.
