When doing flutter kicks should your legs feel tight? The top of my thighs started to ache the more I did. Is this an indicator that I'm not doing them right?

When the muscle tissue on the top of your thighs feel tension, you know you are working your legs and your abs at the same time. You will really feel tension in your hip flexors. These are small connective areas from your pelvis to each leg. Our only word of caution is to watch for back pain. A moderate amount of leg tension is normal and most specifically in the hip flexors but back pain is not normal and should be avoided through proper form.
