Police officers shot and killed a man brandishing a three-foot metal bar and smashing windows at a Carl's Jr. in Monterey Park, California Monday morning. And witnesses caught the shooting on video.

Monterey Park police officers responded to a report that a man was breaking windows at Carl's Jr. near the intersection of Cesar Chavez Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue just before 9:30am. When they arrived on the scene, police saw people running from the restaurant as the man exited the fast food chain, armed with the metal bar.

When the suspect refused to drop the bar, per police orders, police tased him, to little effect. The suspect came in close proximity to the officers and swung the bar at them twice, according to a LASD release. At this moment, police opened fire. One officer shot the man five times, and a second officer shot the suspect an additional five times as he fell to the pavement....

Did you see him swing at the cops before he was popped? I didn't!!

  • Honestly, I would like to put any of you in these officers boots and seen what you would have done. Probably the exact same thing. You guys are all bashing on the police, yet if it was you, would have unloaded on the guy. If some guy came running at your friend with an axe, and you had a gun, you would shoot it. And dont tell me you wouldnt, cause that would be a down right lie.

  • @LAFDExplorer58,

I wouldn't wear their boots for ALL the money in the world. Stop using tricknology, he didn't have a axe and he didn't let the dog go. Simple as that! ...lol, I understand the beast's policy of shooting until the threat is down, lol...and I NEVER been a cop, never will.

  • @deeruck2 , A swing doesnt have to be an actual swing. It can be an aggressive standing position or in a stants at which a subject has the ability to swing or injure an officer. He turned towards the officers and was in an agressive stants.

  • @LAFDExplorer58,

WHAT??!! ...the word is "STANCE". LOL! An aggressive stance isn't a "SWING"! LMAO, a swing is a "swing"!

    TRY AGAIN MR. OFFICER!!!

  • In the info box, it says "Did you see him swing at the cops? I didn't"....you must be blind because after he was tased at :37, he turns to swing at the back cop which is why the cop with the dog opened fire because the other cop hadn't had his gun out yet. Then when the hoodlum or whatever you wanna call him didn't fall to the ground, the other cop shot him. They did what they had to do. They didn't intentionally kill him, but you have to do what you have to do to stop the threat.

  • @siberia888,

How am I blind? He made 1 step and didn't swing. Do you even know how to "swing" something? ...and who said anything about intentionally killing someone? The cop with the K9 should've let the dog go before shooting. Period! The second cop was so scared, he fired late because he couldn't get his taser past his holster, lol, the taser holster should've been on the other side, rofl...

  • You boys be careful.

  • The cops were wholly justified in how they reacted. The uploader of this video clearly has a bias and is assuming that because they killed the man, they're in the wrong. The man CLEARLY pulled back his weapon (sorry uploader, definitely more than just a "bar") in an attempt to hit the officer who didn't have the dog.

Please try to actually look at the video that you uploaded, deeruck2.

  • @LAFDExplorer58,

I have seen people get shot. Don't try to school me about gunshot wounds. Obviously your name says it all, LAFD. Put a rifle or gun in your hand and experience the whole process for yourself, then tell me about something! ...ROFLMMFAO!!!!... 1 shot 1 kill is always the motto! Maybe not for the 1 time, lol! Bottom line, the police dog should've been released first.

  • Good shoot if you ask me..

  • Did you see how how hoe he held the gun?

  • THOSE COPS SHOULD BE HELD FOR MURDER THOSE PINCHE GANGSTER WITH A BADGE.
