When the topic of the child endangerment charges against New York lawyer Madlyn Primoff came up on Fox News today on "Fox and Friends," Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson reacted to the story by making yet another dumb statement that also highlighted the difficulty of drawing the line between permissible parenting and child endangerment and abuse.
The short clip from Fox News' "Fox and Friends" that I use in this video was was recorded from its broadcast on May 8, 2009.
Section 35.10 of the New York Penal Code titled "Justification; use of physical force generally" to which I refer in this video is available at http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/nycodes...

To be honest, I think it would be easier to park and slap the bastards. Less trouble. (By the way anyone who uses the "you shouldn't slap kids arguement," has never been slapped. It isn't that bad.)
the mom probably just got fustrated but still she should have not done that.. that was wrong because anything can happen in a second you should take care ofl your children when they are safe its not the kids fault that the mom cant control over them
If your child ran into the street or tried to play with the stove or something unsafe after you tried to teach them not to without a swat, I believe a damn SWAT might make them remember next time. Would you rather have them really hurt or worse?
My psychology class taught me that physical punishment is difficult to implement correctly because it's easy to abuse.
And besides, smacking/spanking/slapping/hit ting a child's primary goal is to ease the frustrations of the parent. It's dangerous because the kids could then refocus that anger or aggression on things smaller than them, such as a pet or a younger sibling. Children mimic their parents.

Actions like that tend to backfire, for damn good reason too.
