Today i have added something a little different then normal. Its what they call a Duo-Art "AUDIOGRAPHIC ROLL".

This roll incorporates a Listener's Introduction and Descriptive Running Commentary by C Egerton Lowe.

The roll is known as :Audiographic series D-749. Nocturne Op.54 No.4 (Grieg), played by Winifred Byrd.

The roll was made in England in 1928, and is in very good condition. These Audiographic rolls are rare, and becoming very sought-after.

Any questions about the roll or my pianola please just message me.Dont forget to check out my other pianola clips on here as well.
Thanks for looking....
Daniel.

  • Why doesn't the piano "read" the trills? The roll itself is truly amazing and the piano has a wonderful tone--rich and resonant. Thanks for posting this.

  • @chem100 Yes it was ashame the trills werent happening at this stage , but ive had the Duo art expession box removed and fully adjusted and its great to say that they are now there when i play the roll.I might even re-record this roll in a new clip soon. Thanks Dan :)

  • I can't read that fast!

  • Beautiful piano..

  • Wow! This is really cool! What a clever device!

  • HI Dan, Your piano sounds beautiful. I agree with Robert, above, it's a great piece and actually many pieces sound different than when played by Percy Granger - although I like his playing also. Audiographic rolls are indeed a rare treat. The few that I have are better preserved than most other original D-A rolls. One big factor is that Aeolian used superior quality paper for their Audiographic series. Thanks for posting, Best,Tom

  • DAN - I LOVE this piece and your piano sounds quite beautiful - the bass is rich and substantial. This performance is quite different from the Percy Granger.... Robert
