Giant Turtle in Turtle Pond

This video was taken at turtle pond at the Esquinas Rain Forest Lodge in Costa Rica. We were told that if we went to the waters edge and put our hands in the water, a large snapping turtle would come to the surface and beg for food. January 2009

alright first, snapping turtles are like any other water while there actually in the water. I was swimming in a pond and saw one right by my feet and all it did was just slip away. they only bite under water if they think that something is food. second, they only bite because they aer scared when pulled out of the water. this one wasnt pulled out of the water. it chose to come out. it felt comfortable, and is not alert or defencive .
