Indeed...I so wish Blizzard would make Warcraft IV, instead of these damn WoW expansions all the time =(. I really enjoyed original WoW, but ever since the Burning Crusade came out...everything has went to hell, especially the lore. and because of WoW there wont be Warcraft IV anytime soon. So on the other hand I wish Blizzard would never had turned Warcraft into MMORPG.

i think its cool u can take the greek myth, mix it whit north and egyptian. and have a good prince gone bad, orcs and trolls from lord of the rings, gnomes from satnaclous, and put people, books, movies in it. mix it all in a giant bowl and u get the best fantasy online game ever :)

But that's the thing, you may think that they didn't but they did. Games workshop took blizzard to court for breaking their copyright terms. Green skinned orcs were CREATED by games workshop, all orcs before that were tanned/brown skinned (LOTR).

There were warcraft games since 1994. And i dont think in any way they ripped off of Warhammer. Warcraft has elements from fantasy mythology blended with a completely original storyline. A LOT of games do that especially Warhammer as well.

You really can't slam a game for using some elements of another game or story inside itself. While I like warhammer a lot I can't say that it's lore is entirely "new" either. Much of its storyline come from previous game ideas and books written long before its time. That and like most fantasy driven games copying the races from J. R. R. Tolkien's Hobbit and Lord of the rings books. The lore in WoW is definitely not the same story by any means even if it is similar. They are both fun games.

i think you'll find that the storyline was a direct rip off of games workshops warhammer fantasy lore. Blizzard made the warcraft lore when games workshop wouldn't let them create a warhammer game. Sort of a "payback" if you wish.
