This track by "The Originals" was not released in Britain at the time, but is a superb sound anyway don't you think? It was on Soul Label 35069. January 1970. JOHN

  • I think Marvin Gaye & Richard Morris produced this tune here!

  • It was actually Marvin Gaye and Johnny Bristol who composed this tune, Chicago 10281 :-) hope you'll look out for more of my Motown tracks?

  • Great song by the fabulous Originals....but not quite as great as their song, "Baby I'm for Real."

  • Yes, I like Baby I'm For Real more too, they were a very under-rated group in my opinion all those years ago, there will never again be such a lot of talent around altogether like Motown will there?

  • Yes, I totally agree with you, And Motown music had a kind of passion that no other music had or has...I just can't get enough of that Motown music.

  • I used to go to a place here in Brighton UK in the 60's and 70's called the Top Rank Suite, it was a disco that played Motown and the DJ was called "Sherry Ann" isn't that something, SherryAnn68 she lived in Worthing nearby in Sussex.

  • This was released the year my oldest child was born.

I played and played it until she was old enough to sing along.

In my top 10 Love Songs List.

  • I came to this song because of Laura Nyro and Patti LaBelle singing it... They're both great versions. Thanks so much for posting. (And it's even better knowing that Marvin Gaye co-wrote it. Marvelous Marvin!)

  • I remember back in 1970 when I first heard this on the radio I thought they were saying "I'll never Isabel" lol Sweet memories of my childhood and all the people I loved back then.

  • And it's the monophonic version! So much cleaner than the stereo mix. So much of Motown in the 1960's and early 70's, the mono mixes were sooooo much better.

  • @MotownMagic1959 marvin was the ultimate genius...

  • What an era of music to grow up in. I love this song and also the classic baby i'm for real. They also did an upbeat tempo song called green grows the lillacs.

  • iF ANYONE CANT FEEL THIS, THEN YOU HAVE NO SOUL AND NO ROMANCE

  • Sweet soul music at its finest . Love the video also . There are some people on here I don't even know . Wow they was sooo unique

  • I love this song. i was a senior in high school when I first heard it.

  • To: The Originals-Thank You for making this sensational music for us to hear! You guys did a hell-of-a-job, Thank You Again-Amen
