My friend Enzo Toppano recorded this in 1944 at the Columbia studios at Homebush, Sydney. Before the session began he was told 'not to muck it up as each wax master cost the company 50 pounds!' - talk about putting the pressure on! Enzo's still performing 66 years later and as exciting as ever! The Regal Zonophone record is played on a 6-valve 1937 HMV Radiogram (model 721).

  • @vovdylan hi Vov - the singer is Alby Franks. Regards, Glenn.

  • Enzo is an absolute living legend! Listening to him here, he still sounds the same as he did then - how amazing for a performer to never loose his touch! Who is the singer?
