How to fix - Ringer not working Blackbery BOLD

The Ringer on my Blackberry BOLD (9000) stopped working - I discovered this because I use it as my alarm.. and it 'didn't go off' in the morning. My phone would show someone calling, but NO SOUND.
Turns out this is a common issue, but it was 13 months after I purchased.. warranty is only 12 months (Rogers Wireless offered to sell me a new phone with a 3yr package for $289 - YA RIGHT )
What you need
Blackberry Bold, scissors, Tim Horton card, Push Pin, 2 mins.

Worked for me, hope you have the same luck.

Brilliant! Thanks so much for sharing this. This problem has been driving me crazy on the BB Bold and no one could solve it - until now! Don't know how you figured that one out - but great work! What rubbish for a modern phone that we have to come up with solutions like this though - or not if you rely on phone co's RIM for your advise. Blackberry! get yer act together!!

Have had the same problem for over a year on my Bold 9000 and had been placing slivers of credit card in the mentioned slots, but eventually that did not work. Pushed down the white pad and back to full volume. However, for this inconvenience,—and the absolute lack of customer service regarding this issue— I shall never, ever, purchase another product from Blackberry
