can be done with a computer, but there's something to be said about the tactile a nature of knobs and dials. the controls are physically laid out in front of you, you don't have to argue with menus, keystrokes, and mouse gestures

yes of course it can be done with a computer.. but you play these analogue style sequencers differently and computer dont sound as good as stand alone synths, soft sybths are very thin when compaired to hard ware synth especialy analogue synths which are fatter than anything you can create on a pc or a mac.. although the Arturia moogs and arps' sound great..

well skulleton a computer makes it so you can have the software from the sequencer and you dont have to have all that hardware every where but the sequencer software can slow down the computer like those vst's they will take all your cpu not as much with a fast cpu thoe but with the real sequencer you dont have to worry about the pc's limits and the software is for people with less money
and the software sequencer or synthesizer does not sound as good as the hardware one !
