For me I didnt need the red and blue wires. But I left them exposed in case I had to touch em together but I havent had to do that. When I plug in the brick to the mains I hear a tiny spark from the AC plug (normal) that6 told me this thing was ready for action. I put my voltmeter on it and it said 11.9 or so volts so I took the cord off the old brick and wired it to this thing and plugged it into the TV and it came to life. I was stoked.

Funny my brick powers up when I plug it into the wall and the lights don't work on it but I don't care it runs my TV so I can play games. I do have the red and blue wires exposed just in case. what do those 2 wires do anyways? I don't know much on xbox 360s.

What do you mean? All this TV wanted was 12 volts DC and at least 6 amps. the Xbox 360 brick puts out almost 3 times what the TV wants and it's happy. still running strong. I imagine that you could run other 12V things you could even hook an accessory plug to it and charge your cell phone or ipod with it. I was going to build a 12V battery charger out of this brick until I acquired the TV. you could even run a car radio in the house off one of these.

what's the voltage that's written on your old power brick to your TV? if its 12Volts DC then you can probably use one of these XBOX power bricks as long as it doesnt draw more amps than the brick can put out. the black is ground and the red or yellow is the positive (Mine was white and black). My XBOX brick puts out 16.5 amps which is more than twice the power the TV needs. my brick has a 3 conductor plug on it

@ScottieNiven I have a power supply problem with my Polaroid FLM2601 hdtv. Using xbox 360 power brick the way you showed in the video, can I power up my TV? Another question, there is a cable going to the video board from power supply. How do you manage to make the connection between them when you used this technique?

@ScottieNiven I dont have a need for that when I plug the brick in I got power. I dont need to do anything but that but I left the red and blue wires exposed in case it shuts off and I can just cross those 2. and my brick doesnt even have a fan b/c me being the curious george that takes things apart I took a peek inside and found no fan. how I got it open was I cut the middle out of a flathead bit to fit the screws on the brick then I replaced them with standard phillips.

@coondogtheman1234 In mine i disabled the protection circut, so it wont cut out, the light will go red then back to green. To do that you short it out, after it goes red remove the short and leave overnight, the brick will heat up and it will force itself to turn the fan on, and there you go.
i got the same comcast thing florida lol

The DTA box? I hated those things, you could only get the signal thru the lossy RF connector and you couldnt capture the raw mpeg 2 stream. but its basically just a QAM tuner with upgradeable software.
