Hahh whats this talk about galvanized for cooking? Im a welder,, and all i know is that galvanized is nasty when it gets hot.. the fumes will get u sick and too much u will die.

@Benfiquista408 your not a very smart welder. do your realize the difference in temp between a smoker and actually welding the metal. you must not be a very good welder... much like the contractors i work with... trying to sound smart, but its all b.s.

I've been a welder for years also. I have also made smokers out of galvanized drums. It is perfectly safe. Galvanized steel won't create any toxic fumes unless it is melted. Look up garbage can smoker. Its been used for years safely.

How u suppose to add coals n wood when there's no way to get to ur coal basket without taking off the lid and removing ir meat n grill haha I think that's why we never saw it get fired up.

but how are you going to add more fuel to the fire? I'm building one out of 2 25 gallon barrels right now, in a T formation. never built one before but i think it'll be pretty sweet

you dont need to add more fuel 10+lbs of lump charcoal will last 14+ hours. since its a restricted airflow smoker you only let in enough air to keep it at the temp you want. most of the time I have charcoal left for my next smoke.
