El Tren del Fin del Mundo, Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego - Argentina

El FCAF incia su recorrido partiendo de la Estación del Fin del Mundo por el mismo terraplén que recorrieron los presos 100 años atrás.
Se interna en el Cañadón del Toro. Cruza el Río Pipo sobre el Puente Quemado donde se podrán observar las ruinas de madera del viejo puente bajo las nuevas vías.
Luego se detiene en la Estación Cascada La Macarena donde hay una recostrucción de un típico asentamiento de los Yámanas, tribu indígena que habitaban estas tierras hace cientos de años. Además la fabulosa vista del Valle del Río Pipo donde se observa la naciente de la Cascada La Macarena en la cadena Le Martial.
Seguimos en el Tren y entramos en El Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego.
Serpenteando el Río Pipo el Tren continúa atravesando sectores que muestran a través del paso del tiempo la huella que fueron dejando los presos en su rutina diaria de cortar los árboles durante casi medio siglo.
Luego de bordear el Turbal, suelo característico de Tierra del Fuego arribamos a la Estación del Parque.
Tubimos el agrado de ir en la locomotora Ingeniero Zubieta. Fue la última locomotora incorporada al Tren del Fin del Mundo, puesta en marcha a partir de Octubre del 2006. El largo de la misma es de aproximadamente 7 metros y su peso ronda las 10 toneladas, cuenta con una potencia de 160 HP.

We had the pleasure of going on the locomotive engineer Zubieta. It was the last locomotive built at the Railway End of the World, starting from October 2006. The entire route is about 7 meters and its weight is around 10 tons, has a capacity of 160 HP.
