Officer Catches Cold Blooded Creature

The job of a police officer is never routine but this is a scenario we've all likely seen.
Fort Myers Police Officer Glenn Eppler was patrolling The Forum when he encountered a traffic hazard.
The tortoise he spotted was making good time but the length of his travel put his life on the line.
Officer Eppler turned on his emergency lights and stopped his car to do what's right.
The reptile's stout legs attempted to scurry but Officer Eppler picked him up in a hurry.
This isn't the first time a dash cam has featured Officer Eppler rescuing a creature.
It was February of 2011 when Eppler's luck put him in the path of some ducks.
The feathered friends gave Eppler a chase but he gathered them together and made them safe.
Officer Eppler has suffered some teasing for the attention he's received for work that's so pleasing.
But in the end, turtles, ducks and people alike, creatures great and small, it's an officer's job to help them all.
