Theres no chemicals used in the process, you actually use bacteria adhered to corn meal, it is called Microbe Mix. And to address your question regarding the end result... the end result is a safe fertilizer and does not smell. The aerobic bacteria eats away at the harmful bacteria present in the waste, yielding a safe and useable fertilizer. Take my word for it, it actually works.

No it actually doesnt smell, the electric unit is vented out with a 2 inch vent, and the non-electric is vented out through a 4 inch vent.
-
Truthfully does it smell though? I would think it would give off quite an odor.

ok lets take the no plumbing no electrical one --> those of you that used it plz allow some feedback here, therefore : one man takes a dump twice a day, if there are 2 people living there means 4 dumps a day, my guess is it may not fertilize the whole thing in one day and the result would be a saturated - full of excrement toilet ( if it does indeed do the hole thing

I have owned a Sun-mar composting toilet for 9 years and have it up north in my cottage. I highly recommend it. It still amazes me at how well it turns waste into a useable fertilizer.
Quite funny how I came across this video!

I have one of these!! They work! Good for the environment too!
Everyone should be using one of these. We pollute and waste far too much water. I have one its a great product.
