  • mehdi101313, Many thanks for this post.

I am so glad to see these green balloons ascend into the magnificent blue Iranian sky. May the words spoken, and the deep desire for freedom they carry be granted the courageous Iranian people!

  • May the awesome courage of the Iranian people prevail. Could some one please post a translation of the words audible as the ballons are released? Is the music fragment of the hymn 'Oh Iran' by any chance? I am very glad to know that some green balloons managed to ascend in Tehran! I only wish I had been able to obtain some, as well as the helium, and send some up here, deep in the American West.

  • The brave and creative people of Iran can decide. In the balloons they have come up with a simple and creative way to express their desire for freedom. I love the freedom, uplift, expansiveness, and endless soaring of the balloons, and hope the helium holds out forever.

  • That is interesting, but sounds dangerous. If a lot of people were using fire balloons, could pose a fire risk since they can't control where they land. And would give the Government more reason to clamp down on Protestors, calling them 'dangerous'.

  • If they run out of helium they could use fire balloons made of trash bags with small flames in cotton balls, held on a frame made of light wood or thin wire. The warm air makes the balloons rise. These show up at night too. Google garbage bag alcohol cotton balsa fire balloon . Be careful, don't release near flammable roofs or awnings.

  • I thought they looked different than balloons--but they seem to work very well. I wonder where they are getting all the Helium to make them fly? I think I like the trash bags better than regular balloons! They seem to float and stay lower, longer.

  • Those are actually trashbags, in desperate need of balloons@Iran!!!!!!!! Very creatice, though :-)

Go on spreading the truth about the crucioal mullah-regime in my homecountry, dear friends- we R all with U!!!!!!!

  • Watching those balloons fly free, reminds me of the freedom of the Iranian spirit under the oppression of their Government.

  • I love those balloons, they are so unique. Never have seen any like that, and they are nice and large. What a nice, peaceful tribute!

  • Glad to see more peaceful means of protest and solidarity out of Iran today. Good luck over there.
