@TheNevan60 I have to agree with you. People bitch about taxes and "paying for others health care" but then they miss the idea universal health care helps YOU out as well. This whole idea that it's ok to have government pay billions and billions on K-12 education and military spending, but wrong to have money going towards health care for all is just ridiculous.

Interesting info.

Oh, so that's what a free society is about, risking to be denied healthcare? What about spending billions on warfare, is that a free choice of american citizens as well?
Paul is right on many things and seems to be the better candidate, but on healthcare he's unfortunately way off, like the other candidates.
Having a sick population is far more expensive than providing health care for people who can't afford it. And as a self-proclaimed christian country.. puzzles me.

@papersplease What right-wing clowns are you referring to? Certainly not Ron Paul I hope, as that would be a completely inaccurate statement.
-
Yeah for letting someone die. This is what's wrong with people these days.
-
Can't afford healthcare, huh...
I have a better question: WHY IS HEALTHCARE SO EXPENSIVE???
Is there something we can do to make it affordable for everyone?
If life is so valuable, why do we measure it in money (heathcare costs)?
Do doctors and nurses do their job because they care about people or do they just wanna make plenty of money?
Ask those questions first and consider other rationalities, rather than just accept that Healthcare is expensive and demonize someone else.

It's somewhat misleading to present this as hyperthetical when Ron Paul was quite happy to let Kent Snyder, his 2008 campaign manager die because he couldn't afford health care,
I would be tempted to suggest that if Paul, a doctor who has, presumably taken the hypocratic oath, was prepared to let a member of his own team die then he would be more than willing to do the same for America's working poor.
Be under no illusions, he is one callous cunt.
I'm so glad I live in Canada where almost all of my medical expenses and everyone else's are covered by a health system funded through taxes. That way EVERYONE gets the same basic treatment and you don't lose your home or job because you fall ill. That's not communism, it's not anti-patriotic and a civilization is judged by how well it treats it's disenfranchised. The only ones who would lose out if America had the same system are your greedy insurance companies.

These right-wing clowns have no problem seeing their BILLIONS of tax payer dollars go to waste on Iraqis and Afghans who increasingly hate them, yet cry murder at the thought of it going towards the health and well being of their fellow Americans. Sick and deluded people.
