Thousands who attended the universal exposition did not then all go to Courbet's studio. He charged a ridiculous amount for entry on the day and consequently Courbet's tent was rather empty.

Wow. It's weird how much older Collings looks here compared to in 'This Is Modern Art'.

This guy is awesome. The best art presenter i`ve ever listened to - watched. His show on Viasat History is really something in fact it`s on right now!!!

@Jcolinsol As Collings points out at the beginning, societies have different definitions of "reality." The Impressionists were radical in that they were looking for a reality beyond the surface but still based on vision and observation.
