video games aren't the new art, rather a new medium. Video games can be cheap prolefeed shit like Wii Sports or Angry Birds, a new form of story-telling/novel like the Mother series or the Earthsiege/Tribes universe, or pure art like LSD or Shadow of the Colossus. Video games aren't a replacement for art, but rather a new medium like painting. Paintings can be cheap, decorative shit that mom buys to go with the couch or they can be art.
