Sadie and Mike make their way to the train station as they argue about Sadie still going after her dad. She plans to play along with Kinsler to keep her father alive as Mike states the obvious in that she can't trust him. She explains to him that Kinsler can kill her father by flooding the data center with argon, freezing him to death. Mike asks her if she has a plan: she replies "Escalation."
They continue to make their way through the crowd in the station. Vergil comes over the speaker system announcing the final trains out of the city, when the Engineer cuts in and tells everyone to remain calm. Sadie comments how the aliens may be helping Vergil after all, by fixing him up. Mike asks her why they would do that. She brings up the topic her father mentioned that Vergil found something underground. She tells Mike that she's to meet Kinsler on platform 9 on his private train. Mike argues that it's still a bad idea, but Sadie says it's the only way to ensure her dad's safety. Covenant plasma fire starts to hit the station as they comment on how badly the day has gotten. She makes sure Mike knows his part of the plan with Vergil and that she needs him to live to get through this.
As they get to platform 9, they over hear people complaining about the cops with guns and how they are not letting the crowd on the train. Sadie approaches the train and yells out to Kinsler, notifying him of her arrival. He tells her to come on through the crowd to the train. Once she gets through, the crowd gets mad and rushes the train. The cops guarding the train start killing the people rushing. After Sadie and Kinsler are on board, they close up the doors and Kinsler tells the cops to start shooting the crowd. Sadie comments on how he cannot just kill them, but he comments that he's getting good with it since he already killed her father.
She stands there in disbelief as he explains how he died. She starts crying as Kinsler pours himself a drink. Meanwhile, a search party out to get the Engineer that has been helping Vergil radio's in that they haven't been able to find it. Kinsler orders them to keep searching and that it is vital to the war. As the Covenant continue to approach the station, the train operator asks Kinsler what to do. He yells at the operator to wait. He then explains to Sadie that no matter what she thinks of him, he would leave the city with vital intel and be viewed as a hero to the world for his efforts in finding the Engineer.
Outside the train, Mike begins begins rallying the crowd up. Kinsler tells Sadie that no one can save her once they get out of the city. Vergil manages to hack into the train's controls and blow out a few operation panels to render the train immobile. Mike manages to unite the crowd in overrunning the cops outside and they begin to pound on the train. The train operator suggests that they leave. Kinsler gives him the order to leave and let the other cops stay behind to die, as Sadie points out. However, Vergil keeps the train stopped in the station as Kinsler argues that Vergil can't hurt him without hurting Sadie. Sadie, however, thinks of a way and tells Vergil to open the doors, letting the angry mob in that rips him to pieces.
The crowd starts to pile on the train as Mike calls out to Sadie, making sure she's OK. She still has her mind set on going to the data center to find her father, but Mike insists that they get on the train and head out of town. She says that since her dad was willing to die to keep Vergil alive, that she was too, but Vergil chimes in telling her to leave. For a little bit, she refuses because Vergil is all she has left and that he's the only thing left to remind her of her father. Mike guides her to the train after she is willing to leave. The train takes off as the last ride out of the city.
