Had access to a Casio Keyboard and wrote these three little dub tracks. I've never written a song in my life, but have always wanted to try, so here's my first attempt.

The drums are programmed, I played the bass lines 'live' on one track then layered rhythm, melodies, etc.

Everything is live so that's why there's mistakes, plus this keyboard has no working output so I had to record it externally (thus the mediocre sound quality) but let me know if you're feelin any of these grooves - please leave some constructive feedback.

Peace

Song 1 - beginning
Song 2 - 1:47
Song 3 - 3:39

  • this is damn cool dude. check out one of my song things if you have a spare minute or two.

  • @mtcshortbus - will do

  • I was noddin' my head to the beat. I was imagining other instruments layered over it to expand the sound. Did you have to fake the keyboard's echo, by tapping the note?

  • @RudeboyNY - yeah I did that echo manually on the keyboard. There's no effects or volume control for different sounds, so its difficult to layer other things over. However, I'm so new at this, when I did try to layer anything over it would totally complicate it and it would lose its groove.
