Do you have any fish? The water was a bit cloudy in this pond. Maybe it needed a filter.

ya, we have waterlillies in our pond. they only last a few days each, then they wilt and die.

Your pond is beautiful. Did you need a building permit of some sort with one of that size?

The pond is at Uppingham, some way from where I live. I found some information on regulations for you. This is from one of the BBC's handbooks.
"Small garden ponds are not subject to regulation."
For farms:
"If heavy machinery is needed, or the pond is greater than 0.25 ha, the local planning authority should be consulted in case consent is needed."

Glad to help. Also, large ponds aren't allowed close to main roads. A local planning authority would be able to give information on the restrictions.

Wish we could have lilies, our fish eat any plants we dare put in their pond lol. I put a load of that oxygenating weed in it last year to help with the levels. Within an hour it was all floating at the top in pieces

Could you surround the weed with netting, with mesh large enough to allow water to circulate but too small for the fish to get through?
