This was a top flight British Blues Rock band in their prime, before their Lead Singer sacked the band and turned them into a second rate Hair Metal band ...

Saw this incarnation of Whitesnake open for Jethro Tull at the LA Sports Arena circa 1980. Swear that Ian Paice was wearing the same clothes as he is in this video. Ha! Great band and super tune.

This version of WhiteSnake was 3/5th's of Deep Purple Mark III & V with Coverdale on Vocals,Jon Lord on keyboards and Ian Paice on drums! they had the power!
And THAT is Why this version is so much better than the overproduced version on "Slip Of The Tongue" :P

The original is much more raw sounding and better than the over produced version on Slip of the Tongue

The best version EVER! Yeah!

This was before they went all American rock and lost site of what made them good

A great pleasure to hear the original version! Thanks David and Bernie

True mate, this is the best version.
Love the simple guitar solo played well with some balls and feeling - much better than the Vai fret wanking and silly hair business. Cucumbers were cucumbers back then
