@GunP0d actually, this is copying Genesis Climber Mospeda rather than Macross. Genesis climber mospeda is the series that was adapted into robotech season 3 and has nothing to do with Macross

Different styles. New Generation's stories are more individualized and fit the libertarian ideology of U.S.. Macross is more pro-government and pro-socialism and emphasizes personal sacrifices for the common good.

@lyokotower Are you kidding me??? Macross's latest 2011 movie, "Macross Frontier: sayonara no tsubasa (Wings of Goodbye)" pretty much shitted all over Robotech's Shadow chronicles. It's a shame that the new generation of kids will never get a chance to enjoy a true anime from Macross, because of those gold diggers at Harmony Gold/Robotech locking out Macross from reaching the U.S.

H.G. will probably never release Shadow Rising, now that Macross Frontier has put Robotech in their place

Robotech Shadow Chronicles is a fairly good anime, but at the same time, some established facts should not have been changed. For example, Sarah was the Invid princess; not Ariel, and the Invid Regis should have abandoned the earth with all her mecca. They should have kept all original characters of the freedom fighters including Sarah who defended them at the end.
