African-American folklore was Zora Neale Hurston's first love. Collected in the late 1920s, the tales in EVERY TONGUE GOT TO CONFESS are hilarious, bittersweet, and often saucy--providing a verdant slice of African-American life in the rural South.

Here, several of these folktales are beautifully performed by Lucy Anne Hurston--sociologist, college professor, author, and niece of Zora Neale Hurston.
