Laquan, who is from Los Angeles, recorded an Afrocentric, socially conscious, and intelligent album, Notes of A Native Son, in 1990. Laquan didnt have the strong delivery in his lyics, nor was he memorably charismatic as other Afrocentric rappers at the time, but he had at least two good tracks from the album, such as, 'Swing Blue Sweat Black' and 'Now Its The B. Turn.
