Originally released by The Rolling Stones in 1967, Melanie Safka covered Ruby Tuesday on her album, Candles in the Rain, in 1970. Her version became a UK top ten hit. My version has a few glitches.. oh well...

Ruby Tuesday lyrics

She would never say where she came from
Yesterday don't matter if it's gone
While the sun is bright or in the darkkest night
No one knows, she comes and goes

Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you
When you change with ev'ry new day
Still I'm gonna miss you

Don't question why she needs to be so free
She'll tell you it's the only way to be
She just can't be chained to a life where nothing's gained
And nothing's lost, at such a cost

Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you
When you change with ev'ry new day
Still I'm gonna miss you

"There's no time to lose", I hear her say
Cash your dreams before they slip away
Dying all the time lose your dreams and you
Will lose your mind, ain't life unkind?

Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you
When you change with ev'ry new day
Still I'm gonna miss you

Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you
When you change with ev'ry new day
Still I'm gonna miss you

  • Wow! That was the most beautiful Rendition of that song I've ever heard. Bravo!

  • @garbagebill That is such a beautiful comment, so glad you liked it! :-)

  • VERY NICELY played, WELL DONE. I like the rolling stones of course but Melanie's ballad version has always been my favourite, can bring bring a tear to the eye as it has a lot of feeling that version 1970 Melanie's classic version. I hear your using the same sort of chord structure as the r stns. I sing & play this use the same sort of chord structure as M but I sing it in F. I've a handful of keyboards, I sing & play many all time classics. Keep up your playing, very nice from Rich.

  • @bestrickie2 Thank you very much :-) I might just do Melanie's version one day, as I love it too! :-)
