In Dug Down Deep, Joshua Harris shares how we can rediscover the relevance and power of Christian truth. This book shows a young man who rose quickly to success in the Christian evangelical world before he realized his spirituality lacked a foundation--it rested more on tradition and morality than on an informed knowledge of God.
For the indifferent or spiritually numb, Harris's humorous and engaging reflections on Christian beliefs show that orthodoxy isn't just for scholars--it is for anyone who longs to know to know the living Jesus Christ.

I've never agreed with a Christian author more than i agree with Mr. Harris. His "I Kissed Dating Goodbye" and "Boy Meets Girl" are tremendous. His conclusions are the same I have prayerfully concluded from reading a contemplating the scriptures. This video is another example. He and I are kindred spirits.

@JaketheSnake86 You really don't get it! Gospel means GOOD news! I hope that I will continue to follow God not because I will go to hell if I don't, but because God did the unthinkable and died for me. "Gods test" was the law. No one can keep the whole law. Even if you kept %99.999 of it, James 2:10 says that if you miss one part you broke it all. The whole point is that you CANT live up to Gods Standards and that you should realize that Jesus saves, not your failing test grade.

"And it matters not because we want a good grade on a test"
Mind you, this is from the hypochrite man who wrote "boy meets girl". A perfect example of frightening hellfire and brimstone-gospel that is about sticking to(made up) rules so you'll pass Gods test and live up to His standards. Theology matters - Joshua Harris don't!

It may be due to how one describes and understands theology. What you describe here is something i would not call theology, but having a relationship with Christ. In a relationship you 'study' the other person the way you describe. In theology we gather definitions and concepts about Christ, the Godhead, the bible, escatology, etc... In a relationship we get to know the PERSON.

your theology will determine where u will spend eternity. May sure that your theology is grounded in Christ. Solo scripture.
