Testing a jet engine ignition exciter. This unit has lower voltage than most automotive ignition systems, however, the current is much higher. The output produces a loud bright flash.
@LarryCanFly I would try a smaller gap, and your leads must be in really good condition. You can't use regular spark plug resister type leads, must be solid copper. The jet engine exciter has a lower voltage and higher current that most automotive ignition systems.
Mark, I tried replacing my turbine igniter with a regular old auto spark plug and it just won't spark. I put the igniter back in and it works. What could it be? -larry,
