This is Bobby Fischer sixth game of the world chess championship back in July 23 1972. For the first time in Bobby Fischer's career, he opened the game with 1. c4. Boris Spassky was caught off guard, and he was surprised just like anybody else who was following this championship match. Spassky's opening preparation was not at his best. After the game was over, the audience and Spassky himself applauded Fischer's win. A beautiful game to say the least.

  • When you put the ratings side-by-side like that, it really shows what a freak Fischer was.

Imagine a world championship match...Vishy Anand 2800 vs. Magnus Carlsen 2925.

  • @EGarrett01 A great match; it can happen, if Vishy can stay in good shape and still be the strong force he has been in his career.

  • I don't understand the end of this video. It doesn't show the end of the game.

    Spassky resigned after 41 Qf4
