If de engine and the gearbox are ok it's no problem to get it chipped.
It's just the chip that pushed mij car from 150bhp to 185bhp.
The torque is pushed from 220nm to 285nm.
If you drive the car like it should be there's no problem with this increase of power.

@Sjontie76 thanks for getting back to me, that's good to know. i'm getting a stock gti next week, 2007 with 67000km. do you think its worthwhile to chip it? i don't want to do lots of mods or damage reliability. did the chip alone push your car from 150bhp to 185bhp?

I had mine chipped at about 185bhp.
At the moment i had it chipped the car did 15000km.
I now have drivin another 15000km without any trouble or what so ever.
The car is still doing perfect.

what modes have you got on your polo, and what chip did you use in total to get out 190bhp , because thats great, im trying to get 170bhp atleast out of mine.
