Take a photographic journey aboard the QE2 on her final Trans-Atlantic Crossing, from New York to Southampton, October 16 -- 22, 2008. Cunard's famed Queen Elizabeth 2 is a strikingly beautiful ship and perhaps the most famous ship ever built. In 2008, the QE2 was the last express transatlantic liner in service. On this historic occasion of her final crossing, the QE2 crossed the Atlantic Ocean in tandem with the Queen Mary 2. This compilation of photographs takes you on a tour of the ship including many of her art pieces and several of her ship models. QM2 fans will enjoy several images of the Queen Mary 2 as seen from the QE2.

Those lucky enough to have traveled aboard the QE2 were pampered to ultra-luxurious service and accommodations. The QE2 represented the best of the best. The QE2 was an impressive achievement in Maritime history. The grand liner crisscrossed the North Atlantic year round, in all weather, and at speeds in excess of 32 knots, and she did this for 40 years, longer than any Trans-Atlantic Liner in history. The QE2 is the farthest traveled man-made object on earth (over 6 million miles). The QE2 is also the only Liner ever to have made the transition from steam to diesel.
