"Smirti" for handbells, handchimes, and cello, by James Meredith.
"Smirti" is Sanskrit for "Remembrance". Mr. Meredith wrote this piece in response to 9/11.
This is a demo video -- Sonos is working on a DVD for release later this year & this is one part of that effort.
Recorded June 2008 at UC Berkeley, CA.
Videography by Eric Thiermann of The Impact Media Group in Santa Cruz http://www.theimpactmediagroup.com/
Featuring Emil Miland, Cello
Just as amazing as I remember it from Pinnacle! Breathtaking.

solemn... I sense the passage of the soul(?) from this life into the next... somewhat hesitant... then the discordance (is Charon impatient as I fumble for a coin to pay my toll?... or am I awaiting the settling of the scales to see if I am granted access to 'something more'??) or maybe I've simply drifted into that 'dream state' on a sunny afternoon and my mind is just being fanciful??
anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent here...

Stunning - both Jim Meredith's composition and the extraordinary colors of Emil Miland's cello performance so artfully enhanced by the handbell and handchine chorus - certainly fitting the title.
