AWESOME jukebox! LOVE those hot post-war Tommy Dorsey arrangements by Sy Oliver! You've got a really rockin' restoration job done on that one, thanks for posting.
They made 78 rpm releases of pop hits up through the late 1950's, so yeah these old 78 boxes were still on location in the early 1960s... Jukebox operators were the main reason why record companies making 78 rpm versions of records that late.
WONDERFUL! I love the console mech and you've restored that booger really well. Great sound. Wurlitzer always had a nice strong sound once you get the amp rebuilt. They surpassed all the other 78 jukes by far in sound and had a deep rich tone to them and a great noise reduction filter built in.
thank you for this wonderful video. it actually resurrected a memory that was long forgotten. i was not yet alive when this juke box was new, but in the early 60's there were some bars, etc. that still had them. your video caused the right synapse to fire. thanx again.

Even In The Early 1960s They Were Long Out Of Use.They Were Probably Still Around Until 1950,When The First Jukeboxes That Played 45s Came Out.
