Lai Ngan Lok, age 94, passed away at Pacific Alliance Medial Center, Los Angeles on Friday August 26, 2011, following a brief illness.

She was born on October 15, 1917, in Toy San County, Guangdong province, China. When she was young, Lai moved to Burma (Myanmar), Taiwan, Guam, and lastly the United States. For those that know her, Lai's life was dedicated to serving the Lord. She was a kind and caring woman, who was always willing to help those who were in need.

Lai came to know the Lord in Burma where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. While she was there, she began her work to serve God by visiting non-believers and sharing the gospel. In the United States, she was an active member of the Chinese United Methodist Church. She helped the Pastor, went to prayers meetings, and never stopped sharing the word of God. After she retired, she traveled the world with her husband, and spent much of her time participating in many activities with her friends and other members of her congregations. She enjoyed knitting, listening to music, and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up.

We give thanks to the Lord for Lai's blessed life, filled with love from her families, friends and community. She will be deeply missed.

Lai is survived by four loving daughters; Winnie, Shirley, Molly, Lily and their husbands; two nephews and their wives; twelve grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.
