The device contains a switching regulator.

The squeel is nothing to worry about. Under little or no load the switching pulse duration is so narrow that it becomes almost off, but not quite.

Mine does exactly the same. it´s very annoying. I have tested many of those and they all have the same problem.

does somebody know if you can use the nokia n900 with the charger like a laptop, so that the battery does not have to work? my nokia 5800 starts charging again when i watch videos with it.
