Join Dean Geoffrey Cowan and Donald Tang, vice chairman, Bear Stearns and chairman, Asia Society Southern California, for a special event featuring two young television journalists, Lisa Ling and Yang Lan. From The Asia Society, "Two of the most notable new television journalists on the world stage one from the U.S., one from China - Lisa Ling and Yang Lan, are changing the face of television news gathering and reporting in both hemispheres. Both will share the same stage for the first time on March 1st. Lisa Ling, 33, has already achieved journalistic stardom in the U.S., especially with a growing following of avid fans from a younger generation of informed, perceptive news consumers who share her unique global perspective and who are looking for true substance and a sense of rare adventure in their news and information diets from around the world. Yang Lan, 37, is one of the most celebrated television interviewers in China, renowned for her ability to reveal the true persona behind the great names in business and government worldwide including luminaries like President Clinton. Comparisons are often made between Ms. Yang and Oprah Winfrey as both are famous icons of the television interview genre in their respective worlds as well as highly successful entrepreneurs.
China is not a threat to US. May be US is a threat to China, just look at Chinese young people the way they praise the American culture.
