Sorry if its kinda grainy. it was a 7.2 MP digital camera zoomed 11X on a tripod. This was filmed from my backyard in chicago.
Both vehicles will be traveling across North America on northwest-to-southeast trajectories.Because of its size and configuration of highly reflective solar panels, the Space Station is now, by far, the brightest man-made object currently in orbit around the Earth. On favorable passes, it approaches magnitude -3 in brightness, which would rival the planet Jupiter and is four times brighter than Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. On future missions, additional solar arrays will be deployed, making the ISS appear even brighter. When completed in 2010, it might even rival Venus, the brightest planet. And as a bonus, sunlight glinting directly off the solar panels can sometimes make the ISS appear to briefly flare in brilliance.

Generally speaking, the Shuttle-ISS tandem will be visible across southern Canada and most of the 48 contiguous United States.

  • @LoudS1l3nc3 if you go to Nasa website, they have a page called "sighting opportunities" where you can check the ISS schedule from the place you are...

  • I just love every flyover!

  • @LoudS1l3nc3

If you visit the NASA website spaceflight1 dot nasa dot gov slash realdata slash sightings and enter your country and city info, you will be shown sighting opportunities for both the ISS and the shuttle from your location.

  • @LoudS1l3nc3 - NASA has a site that you can input your location and which object you're looking for & it will spew times and direction / angle to watch. Go to

NASA's Human Space Flight Real Time Data (Google it)
