Underdog (A Jonas Brothers Love Story) - Chapter 44 (Part 2)

*Sam's P.O.V.*
As we walked by the empty music room I stopped.
"Hey guys, I'll catch up with you later."
"K, bye." Kristi said and they smiled and walked away.
I stepped into the music room and picked up a guitar sitting in the corner. The only way I knew how to get out my emotions was to play, so I sat down on a stool and began to strum. The first song that came to mind was S.O.S. At the time, I didn't know what else to sing and that song seemed to fit the mood of the moment.

However, I hadn't even gotten to the chorus when I heard someone creak open the door and step into the room. I stopped playing as I recognized the sound of high heels stepping on the ground. I looked up to see none other than Mindy standing in front of me. I noticed that her slutty short skirt and piles of makeup only seemed to make me hate the sight of her even more.
"Hey sorry to barge in on you, but you sound really good." She said with an innocent expression that disgusted me even more.
"Thanks." I said sullenly.
"I'm not sure if you heard, but I'm having a party this weekend." She said.
Of course I had heard about her party, everyone had. But of course, she invited the entire school population except for me, Sasha, and Kristi. Whatever point she was trying to make I didn't feel the need to respond.
"So... we already have a DJ but we were looking for someone to play a few songs live as well... you interested?"
"Not really." I said with a tone of anger.
"Oh please... you're perfect." She could sense that I wasn't budging. "How about... you only have to play a few songs.?"
"One song." I said grudgingly.
"I guess that's fine." She said.
"And I get to bring my friends too."
I could tell she wasn't gonna go for that. "...ugh. Fine."
I was surprised but I decided I would do it.
"See you on Saturday." she said as she walked out of the room with an obviously fake smile plastered across her face.

What was I thinking!? How could I go to a party hosted by one of the people I hated the most? Not to mention, Joe would most likely be there trying to rub in my face the fact that he was with Mindy. But you know what? I'm strong and I'll prove to them that they can't break me... I won't let them. In fact, Saturday might turn out to be an interesting night.

I continued playing S.O.S. while trying to clear the thoughts inside my head. However this time I locked the door. The last thing I needed was another interruption.

*Joe's P.O.V.*
After I was done with Mindy, I walked around the school trying to find Nick. As I walked up the stairs I heard the faint sound of someone playing the guitar. I followed the sound and found myself outside the music room. I recognized the song immediately, knowing that it was S.O.S. Whoever it was that was playing was really good and their voice sounded beautiful I wanted to find out who it was so I tried opening door. I turned the handle over and over but sadly, it had been locked. It was really bothering me and I wanted to know who this girl was. I continued to listen to her gorgeous voice until the song was over. I waited for someone to come out but there was only complete silence. After a while I walked away, giving up. I really wanted to meet whoever it was that was playing, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be.
