Many thanks to Vicki Krupp and our Green Committee for a fabulous Energy Fair. (Take a look at the slide show that Cantor G. prepared from photos taken at the event!) It was fascinating and thought-provoking to explore the array of opportunities for greening our homes and community. I hope that the impact of this fair will long be felt. I hope that we will continue to reflect deeply on the many ways that we can conserve energy and other valuable natural resources. Moreover, I hope we will do so as Jews, with the full awareness that this is an essential imperative of the Jewish tradition. The Torah teaches us that the planetary environment in which we live is a precious gift. It's a garden -- a beautiful garden -- that we are called upon to till and to tend. We are stewards of that garden, holding it in trust for our children and grand-children. Let's each of us do our part, and leave a well-tended garden to the next generation.
