Well at the time I had the money for one. For another I wanted a camera that was a little more advanced so when I started getting better. I wouldn't have to worry about moving up. And I am really glad I did. I quickly caught on to a few things and now as I am getting more advanced with my photography. My gear is already there with me. Instead of me not moving forward because my gear can't keep up.

why did you exchange the rebel? would you suggest the 40D over the XTI?
