A blast from the past! Sensei Willie Williams(aka Kamau Okbar) and Kenny Buffaloe both studied Kyokushin Karate under the famous Shihan Shigeru Oyama of New York. Sensei Willie Williams and his Kohai(and friend) Kenny Buffaloe appeared together on a popular award winning TV magazine show called "REEL PERSPECTIVES" in 1984. They were interviewed about their involvement in Kyokushin Karate and they also did several demonstrations. Sensei Willie taught at his own Dojo in North Carolina at that time and Kenny Buffaloe trained there and assisted with the training classes twice a week. Sensei Willie Williams also trained Kenny Buffaloe in a special form of Japanese Kickboxing(Muay-Thai) called "Shin Kakutou Jitsu" that he learned in Japan from the legendary Shihan Kenji Kurosaki and his best student & champion fighter, Mr. Toshio Fujiwara.
Willie Williams also discusses his controversial match against Antonio Inoki, Japan's top wrestler and MMA star in 1980. Antonio Inoki had previously fought World Heavyweight Boxing champion Muhammad Ali in 1976 and several other champions. Inoki's match against Willie Williams is regarded as the ultimate match of the 20th Century and set a new standard for future MMA fights.
