I wanted to dedicate "Strangers Of The Nowhere"
to Terry Gilliam, one of the most genial and visionary film directors
of our times, because with his unique style he has managed to make
me fall in love with the ironic way of interpretation of life,
and has shown to everyone
where human imagination may ever push his feet.

- Paolo Pedana -

A song dedicated to one of the most genial film directors
of our times: Terry Gilliam

Music video for ANTHROPOS 's "Strangers of the Nowhere"

The very first impression you get listening "Anthropos" is of a powerful and united hard rock band , capable of conceiving a real musical passion along with a strong confidence on the stage . Their music represents the ideal soundtrack for periods of drunkenness and long trips , mental and physical as well . The band members say that is not the ability "to produce the right sounds , but rather to transmit which the band feelings are living along with the music ".

Inspired by music legends such as Deep Purple ,Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin ,The Doors and Pink Floyd , the Anthropos are paying a tribute to rock 'n' roll since 2007 when Paolo Pedana has the initiative to create the band . Therefore the first line up comprehends Paolo (drums ), Michele Palafreni (voice and keyboards) , Alessandro Bravi and Luca Cozzari ( respectively lead and rhythm guitar )and Sammy Tabet (bass) . These young musicians enjoy mostly covering and re-enacting rock 'n' roll songs from the 70's , building up the picture of a revolutionary band . What's more , they try to avoid Italian's actual pop and disco trends .
After a large number of gigs all over Umbria , Anthropos start performing and producing their own songs , works capable of expressing the band's inner soul . Thus they take part to competitions and contests , for example the "Unimusic live" ,where they win the prize for "best voice" and "best lyrics" for the song "let the power go out" , and "Sanremo al Centro" that make them play at the famous stage Santa Giuliana . The band also achieves the semi-final of the national "PopRockContenst" 2005 and 2009 and the "Tour Music Festival" organized by Mogol at "Studio 1" in Cinecittà , Rome .

In October 2009 the young Giacomo Bucci joins the band as a bass player , substituting the former one .In the same year they're given the great opportunity to play in Minsk , Belarus , where the band meets the broad agreements it deserves . After this extremely positive experience the band starts looking for foreign gigs , pubs and producers.

The next bigger turning point takes place in 2010 when the Anthropos meet Terry Gilliam . Thanks to this peculiar character the members start changing their own perception , and Paolo (author of most lyrics and musics), together with the band , creates a new musical style in keeping with the single personal musical influences. After this fact a new single comes out : "strangers of the nowhere" dedicated to Terry Gilliam itself. And this last song achieves the best success , becoming popular among fans and being developed among Italian and foreign recording labels .

What they said (about Anthropos) :

"A bunch of boozers! Not bad , anyway " -- a false fan , a bit envious
"Goliardics!" -- Red Erik "RCC Radio" broadcasts their songs really often

"It's probably your young age mixed together with an incredible talent arising from each of you that make that energy filling everybody , even they're old or young. That must have SOME importance" --A.P. , a TRUE fan .
