Located at the entrance of the Port of Rotterdam is a very popular kite and windsurfing spot; located on the Maasvlakte Delta it is situated some 5km out in the open sea with good conditions for different wind directions. the Beach is called ' Slufter Strand' with parking places next to the beach. Different conditions with low/high tide, nice swell and some sandbanks.
Downside is that the spot is stretching wide out in the open sea at the edge of the delta, so you should be very cautious about the strong currents that occur. No spot for beginners!
At the west side of the Delta you will find mostly windsurfers, at the eastside mainly kiters.
Made this movie during a sunny friday afternoon/evening while I was windsurfing at the spot.

Great movie, thanks ! Great that you can film while surfing ;-) That wold explain why I did not spot you :-P Sheesh, this kitesurfing looks more like parasailing half the time. Is there still a future & place for the oldfashioned windsurfer, I wonder ?
