A real multiple elevator-safety fail can happen, also the US or Western Europe, it is no fake. A similar accident happend in New-York, where a woman died. Look to little girl, wenn she wants to leave the car:

The real question here is whats sniffing going to do ?
-
How about, opening the escape hatch, and hanging onto the top of the elevator.
John McClaine did it!

Seems plausible... at least your organs wont have to take the complete impact force. Not like in a carwreck where the only thing that holds you is the belt. YOur inner rorgans can get ripped off and u bleed to death. So pay attention kids. Even a skydiver survived a horible crash when his parachute didnt open and what saved him was lots o fmuscle tissue around the waist and his broken hips and pelvis xD as buffers for all the energy behind his impact velocity...

@hashte but how many of these assholes are trying to make videos in chinese?
This guy is Chinese, speaking pretty good English and giving some good advice. How many of you assholes know at least 10 Chinese words?

Elevators usually have 6-8 ropes on the elavator. Each rope by itself can hold more than 25% of the maximum weight limit of the elavator. If the rope is cut by terrorists, you have countless brakes to stop the elavator. All of those brakes have back-up brakes. If they fail, there are other brakes that use gravity to stop the elavator. The faster the elevator is falling, the harder the brakes stop it. That clip is shot from a movie in a ship that was UPSIDE DOWN. Elevators don't usually do that.
