Coverage from TWC of Hurricane Charley moving through Central Florida towards Orlando, also a report filed by Jim Cantore during the storm on Aug. 13, 2004.
When this report was on the air, I was sitting in the dark in a torn up town. It was bad. We were without power for 9 days during hot Florida summer weather. Miserable time.
This makes me want to cry. Oh the memories. If this storm was anything, it was exhilarating. Yes, it scared the crap out of me, but it was an AMAZING experience. It was anything but boring.
florida gets a lot of hurrianes: Andrew, Katrina, Wilma, Charley and countless more.

Hernando was not affected by Charley. Maybe you mean Hardee County?

I was in Ft. Pierce during Charley, felt T.S. Strength winds and a little rain. Thankfully I was out of there before Frances and Jeanne of that year.

No, it was between rainbands. Fort Myers was never in the eye (or even the eyewall).
