I love soccer training videos and soccer practice videos. Training on your own is not easy so I feel it's nice to have soccer drills and soccer tutorials like this Online Soccer Academy training video series to help you!

Today we are doing a 30 minute training session. This session is indoors! My location is Pelican Athletic Club in Mandeville, Louisiana.

Equipment Needed: 1 ball and some hard gym walls.

Session:
0-5 minutes:
Warm up, Jog and stretch doing all the normal exercises like high knees, side shuffle, etc.

5-10 minutes:
Passing off the wall one and two touch. Check your shoulders as it comes back to you. Be on your toes. Get your legs good and warmed up.

10-15 minutes:
Ball work. Every 20 seconds change the exercise. Behind the back V's. Toe touches, scissors, you be creative.

15-20 minutes:
Side volleys! Toss the ball with your hands to the side of you. Let it bounce, then hit a side volley at the gym wall. We are working on technique. As it comes back to you, trap it, then pick it up and repeat. If you are feeling solid don't use your hands, use your feet to set up your side volley touch. Do the side volleys out of the air and also try some on the half volley by hitting it right as it bounces! For tips on Side Volley technique watch my Online Soccer Academy training video titled "How to do a Soccer Volley".

20-25 minutes:
Side volleys again! This time take the ball in your hand, toss it off the wall next to you. As it comes back to you, check your shoulders to see your target, then hit a side volley. Repeat for 5 minutes. We are working on technique so don't rush!

25-30 minutes:
Free juggling. Feet, thighs, headers, etc. Be creative and go for you record! Whatever your record is for the day be sure and update your Online Soccer Academy juggling chart.

Bonus Tip!

*If you want to extend the training session time then add on time to any section you want extra work on.

*Make sure to finish with cool down and stretching. If you are up for it add on a few sit ups and push ups!

  • hi Jared.Answer my question..can i still be a great football player even though im already 16??The beautiful game had just recently arrived here in the Philippines and i want 2 be part of it..thanks if u respond

  • @aleuzirbnivra of course you can! I can't answer that question for you though.. only you have the answer! Have fun improving and working on your game!

  • Hey great videos, they've helped me alot. :) I have a problem I don't think is covered by your tutorials, I play a holding midfielding role and usually when I'm 1 on 1 with their center mid I show him one way but usually he just passes to the wings or charges past me, what should I do in those situations ? Thanks

  • @TheOriginalRadlam sometimes you have to step in an win the ball. Sometimes you are forcing him wide. Be more confident in your defending! For defending, log on to your OnlineSoccerAcademy(dot)com profile (if you don't have one, sign up, it's free) click the "View All OSA Videos" button on your profile and then select the "Defending" category; there you will find a lot of videos to help you.

  • hey could do a video about shooting accurately and quickly, i tend to miss the target in real matches when under pressure

  • @ExEDitched For shooting, click the "View All OSA Videos" button on your Online Soccer Academy profile (it's free, sign up if you are not a member) and then select the "Shooting" category; there you will find a lot of videos to help you. Or search on youtube for my Online Soccer Academy video tilted "How to Kick a Soccer Ball: How to Shoot a Soccer Ball with Power". That will help! Don't rush your shot and believe in it that you will score!

  • @mrcirca12345 not bad. Keep at it and you will be in triple digits in no time!

  • @OnlineSoccerAcademy I will,thanks ! :))

  • @KriiZ08 yes, you are right, a football doesn't always bounce perfectly for you in a game. But this session is working on volleys and the technique. So that is why it is okay to create a good environment to focus on your technique. If you don't have good technique you won't be able to hit a more challenging ball. Start with basic technique, then make it more challenging. Thanks for watching.

  • @KriiZ08 I'd have to disagree with you. The standard of football in the states is pretty good and getting better each year. Hence the number of American players signing pro contracts in Europe. This training video is designed for a player to train on their own time outside of team training. So being able to do kick ups, will help in games, it helps with ball control.

  • @StefanHighlights cool, I'm sure the videos will help too if you put them to good use! Have fun getting back into Football!

  • Man,you are the legend i am huge fan of football,in fact football is my life, but i haven't been training and i am thinking to start now, and i am sure your tips will help me ! :)

  • Sorry but the standard of football over the states must be poor if this can be classed as a training session. Football isnt about how long you can keep the football in the air, wheres kickups going to get you when theres 11 players chasing you down? the volleys should really be controlled rather than just picking up the ball afterwards, when do you ever see a football perfectly bounce infront of you? never.
