Sen. Jim DeMint, Tony Perkins, Bishop Harry Jackson and Pastors Speak in Support of Marriage Between One Man and One Woman

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Family Research Council President Tony Perkins joined Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC), Bishop Harry Jackson and pastors from across denominational lines for a news conference at the Senate swamp to show their support for the Defense of Marriage Act and marriage as the union of one man and one woman. The conference was held Thursday, May 24, at 3 p.m. EDT.

They discussed Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and his possible plan to hold a vote on a repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act. The news conference also addressed President Obama's endorsement for redefining marriage.
