During SMU's game against Texas A&M at Kyle Field, Aggies senior defensive back Trent Hunter intercepted a pass and lost his helmet when both senior center Blake McJunkin and senior offensive lineman Kelly Turner tackled him. With Hunter's head exposed, McJunkin instinctively shielded his opponent with his arms until the play was over.

Total pain in the ass finding this video so I thought I'd isolate and post for anyone looking for it. See the article link below for more detailed story.

  • True act of class. I'm a die hard Longhorn fan and everyone knows the severe rivalry that goes on between UT and A&M but as a fan of football in general this just makes me proud. I wish everyone had this kind of sportsmanship. Everyone in high school, collegiate, and professional football should take a page out of this young man's book.

  • This kid is an amazing person and his parents should be exceptional proud both of the job they did in raising him and in the young man he has become. Truly amazing!!!

  • Proud to say I went to highschool with this guy.

  • Good bull!!

  • I wish there were more players like this...or I guess I wish this kid of thing dominated sports news instead of what we usually see. New fan. Right here. Nicely done, sir.

  • haha...he still shoves him when he gets up though...haha

  • I got allot of respect for this guy now.

  • Very classy. Good work Mr. McJunkin. Your parents have a lot to be proud of. I pray my boys have the same class and respect in sports and in life. God bless you bro.

  • This is not the first act of respect by this young man (vs Navy his freshman year). He is a great athlete and person and will go far in life because of the beliefs instilled in him.

  • If have played football and have a true love for the game, this doesn't surprise you.

A lot of passion on the field, no one wants to see others seriously injured.
