This is a LIVE 1970s performance of Cilla singing the lead track from her 1973 album "Day by Day with Cilla".

A remastered CD of this album which was produced by Sir George Martin is due out on the EMI label in February 2009. Other albums to also be re-issued are "Sher-oo!", "Surround Yourself with Cilla" & "It Makes Me Feel Good".

@maryquant1967 maybe it's because she merely interprets songs instead of writing them. Besides, the US already has Streisand, Midler and Cher even back then.

Just one of the best singers to come out of the 60's. So distinctive and just Cilla . . as all the girl singers wee in those days. Brilliant !

She could really hit those notes without artificial studio help like nowadays.

I actually preferred her singing live on some occasions, as opposed to to the recordings and this is one example.

She is so underestimated now as a great vocalist.

Wow that woman can sing. She actually has a new double CD plus DVD out at the moment, the Definitive Collection, it really is good.
